Classical High School, one of Rhode Island's most prestigious academic institutions, is undergoing a major $34 million renovation to transform its aging facility into a cutting-edge, 21st-century learning environment. Funded by $39 million in state bonds investments, this renovation addresses the school’s outdated infrastructure while preserving its historical significance.
Upgrades include a new media center equipped with modern technology, ADA-accessible special education suites, and classrooms designed to accommodate students with cognitive and physical disabilities. Additionally, a new turf field has been installed to support six sports teams, providing students with enhanced athletic opportunities.
The renovation also focuses on student wellness and safety, with a secure vestibule entrance and improved classroom facilities. These upgrades aim to support Classical High’s tradition of academic excellence while creating an inclusive and accessible space for all students. The project is slated for completion by Winter 2024.
