The School Building Committee (SBC) has membership representing the Providence Public School District, the City of Providence, the Providence City Council, the Providence School Board, the Rhode Island Department of Education, and Providence community members.

The mission of the School Building Committee is to work together to:

• Take stock of the progress of the capital plan and provide the public with opportunities to stay abreast of developments and provide input or feedback as appropriate aligned to the TAP designed by and for the community.
• Review school construction documents and approve required to complete both Stage I and Stage II of the RIDE Necessity of School Construction Application.
• Offer insight on concepts and plans for school construction improvements leveraging the expertise of the committee and voice of the community.
