Pleasant View Elementary School recently celebrated the completion of a major upgrade, as it's the fourth school to open as a new or like-new facility under the state’s intervention in the past two academic years. This $18 million project transformed the school into a modern, state-of-the-art facility designed to meet the diverse needs of its student body, particularly the 40% of students who are differently-abled.
As part of Providence’s long-term plan to ensure every student is learning in a new or like-new school by 2030, Pleasant View Elementary is now equipped with the capacity to serve 418 students across 11 Pre-K classrooms. The renovation included a variety of modern learning spaces, including a new cafetorium, an indoor therapy play area, and a fully upgraded library media center. The project also focused on essential infrastructure updates, such as HVAC upgrades, modern security systems, and green construction techniques aimed at creating a sustainable and energy-efficient learning environment.
