Google Voice
All educators will create a google voice phone number to support communication during distance learning. These will be posted on the school distance learning sites.
Zoom Zoom is a web based platform that allows for digital face-to-face meetings. This platform is being utilized by educators to support live meetings with their students to engage in instruction. In addition, it is being utilized to support school and district based professional learning, common planning times, and collaborative meetings.
When using Zoom:
- Do not make meetings or classrooms public. In Zoom, there are two options to make a meeting private: require a meeting password or use the waiting room feature and control the admittance of guests.
- Do not share a link to a teleconference or classroom on an unrestricted publicly available social media post. Provide the link directly to specific people.
- Manage screensharing options. In Zoom, change screensharing to “Host Only.”
Screencastify Screencastify is a google chrome extension that allows teachers to screen record while also using their microphones and
webcams if they wish to. It then creates a video that saves directly to the teachers Google Drive and gives the option to
push out the video directly to Google Classroom. It is a great tool for recording lectures, read alouds, and any type of
direct teacher instruction. It's also great for our special populations because they will be able to pause and rewind the
videos and access them at their pace.
