The inaugural Hot Shot Contest took place on February 11th and 12th during all Unified Arts classes. This timed event tested the skills of our students (and even a few faculty members). Most importantly, it got us off computers and into physical activity for healthy body and mind. Congratulations to the winners who were presented with certificates signed by the principal and physical education faculty, ribbons, and a new basketball to call their own.
We are proud to have launched the inaugural Turkey Trot at Hopkins Middle School. Grounded in our commitment to the physical health of the developing child and recognizing the need more than ever to lead the school community to get active despite the pandemic, we held this event during UA classes on November 19th and 20th. All participants, students and staff alike, had to run or walk the track for a full mile in the best time possible. Students who ran and had the best times recorded were awarded turkeys for the Thanksgiving holiday. This was an immensely fun event, and we would like to congratulate the winners and all who participated.
This event also tied into school culture and community initiatives, so please visit that portion of our website for complete photo galleries.
